StarNet, LLC approaches each potential client request with an assessment of needs followed by a written proposal. The proposal will include a statement of need; the StarNet, LLC method recommended to meet the need; a task plan and a written project management system. Our team uses this method to ensure clarity of roles and to ensure quality of value delivered to our clients.

Consulting
We engage with clients on either a retainer or fixed project basis, to explore topics such as target objectives, collaboration options, feasibility assessment, potential partners, recommended design approaches. Contract durations range from three days to several months.

The majority of our work involves groups of organizations that both compete and cooperate. We provide full disclosure of all recent, current and prospective clients to assure no conflicts of interest.  We practice appropriate confidentiality when conducting research involving multiple organizations.

Alliance Design & Implementation
If an alliance option is chosen and a design approach is agreed, we engage in a multi-client agreement with a team of founding sponsors. As a firm, StarNet, LLC is paid to be independent and commercially neutral, protecting first the interests of the collaborative result.

 

The initial agreement often converts to a fixed term, non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. Upon conversion to a Board structure, StarNet, LLC engages in a multi-year management services contract with the non-profit to provide management and other services. 

 

Alliance Management & Administration
StarNet, LLC operates an office, communications system and has associations with a bench of pre-qualified contractors. This permits launch of an operational alliance within 90 days of agreement by a set of founding members.  We are prepared to continue to operate all aspects of the alliance organization, as agreed in the terms of the multi-party agreement.  

 

Investment Services
Commercialization of innovations often involves lengthy explanation of the advances in knowledge and technology to multiple financing sources. StarNet, LLC provides innovation and technology trends consulting to venture capital, angel capital and private equity firms on a retainer basis. 

We do not provide services to source financing for individual companies until and unless an alliance has completed its division of intellectual property among participants.

 

Government Services
We provide consulting and training to Federal Government managers of large-scale technology programs and state economic development programs linked to technology development programs. For Federal clients, StarNet, LLC is a Federal Supply Schedule vendor of consulting and facilitation services via the Management, Organization and Business Improvement Services (MOBIS). Our GSA MOBIS contract number is GS10F-0136P.
